Capitol
Reef National Park and Vicinity.
Boulder Mountain, south of state hwy 24, has
many roads that are excellent for four-wheel-drive-vehicles,
and provide exceptional views.
North
of Boulder Mountain over the back of Thousand
Lake Mountain via Loa and Fremont is a ruggedly
scenic twenty-five mile ride to Cathedral Valley
in the backcountry of Capitol Reef National
Park.
Burr
Trail. One of the most popular drives
in southern Utah is the Burr Trail. From Boulder,
it extends for sixty-six miles through BLM's
Long Canyon and Circle Cliffs, the Waterpocket
Fold of Capitol Reef National Park, and other
amazing scenery to state hwy 276 above Bullfrog
Marina on Lake Powell. Although most of this
road is paved, inquire locally about conditions
on the unpaved portions.

Dixie
National Forest. In southwestern
Utah, the East Fork trail system of the Dixie
National Forest begins at Tropic Reservoir.
These mountain roads are challenging and scenic,
but use caution as some forest roads are closed
for logging operations.

Coral
Pink Sand Dunes State Park. Three-thousand
acres of brightly colored sand dunes invite
OHV use at this colorful state park.
Escalante.
A 60-mile drive from Escalante southeast on
BLM land to the famous Hole-in-the-Rock overlooking
Lake Powell affords unusual scenery along the
Kaiparowits Plateau.
