Basin. In the Ashley National
Forest, nestled in yellow rock formations
at the foot of the Uinta Mountains, is the
Yellowstone ATV Trail. The Petty Mountain
Loop portion is 24-miles-long, and the Dry
Gulch Loop covers 32-miles. This trail system
is 43 miles north of Roosevelt, via state
hwy 87 to the town of Mountain Home, then
into the forest on Forest Service Rd. 119.
Dinosaur
National Monument and Vicinity.
On Diamond Mountain Plateau, and in Browns
Park between Dinosaur National Monument
and the Green River, four-wheel-drive
enthusiasts can explore the rugged terrain
where Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch
wandered.

Cliffs and San Rafael Swell.
Southeast of Price, the wild Book Cliffs
are off the beaten path by anyone's standards.
Both north and south of I-70, in eastern
Utah, are dozens of rugged, unpaved roads
for exploring the backcountry throughout
the San Rafael Swell.
